The Silent Retreat is an invitation to explore mindfulness in a quiet and spacious way.  It is an occasion to gift yourself a day of kindness and care as you learn to really listen to you your heart, mind and body.

The day will include a reconnection with several different mindfulness practices including meditations that focus on the breath, body sensations, sounds, emotions, thoughts and touching into the vast awareness that holds it all.  We alternate sitting practices with body centered practices of body scan, yoga and mindful walking that invite kind attention and gentle curiosity to mindfulness in motion.  You are encouraged to bring a meal that you can eat in silence and practice mindful eating.  We learn to touch into our inner strength, stillness and aliveness  with the visualization practice of Mountain meditation and we learn to cultivate compassion and care though the Loving Kindness practice.  Above all it is a day of accepting and allowing whatever shows up in the present moment with a delicate and tender touch.

Graduates of the MBSR program are always invited and welcome to attend the Silent Retreats.  As the alumni numbers grow, we are limited by the space available, so we encourage you to register early if you know you will be able to attend.  Current students of the MBSR 8-week class are required to attend the retreat, are already registered for this retreat and should not register again.

We are moving our retreats to the Still Waters Retreat Center in South Austin.

We hope you will join us.
